BACI
Also known as: CEPII BACI
CEPII's reconciled bilateral trade dataset, the primary source behind World Trade Flows. Covers ~226 countries from 1995 to the most recent year, at HS6 detail.
BACI ("Base pour l'Analyse du Commerce International") is built from UN Comtrade. It uses a weighted-estimator reconciliation: countries with more reliable customs reporting get more weight in resolving discrepancies between exporter- and importer-declared values for each flow. Released annually in January, with full documentation and product-code concordances published by CEPII.
Examples
- BACI 2023 release covers 1995–2022 flows.
- The 2024 release adds 2023 data (used by World Trade Flows).
