Sri Lanka imported $17.36 billion of merchandise goods in 2023, making it the world's #93 largest importer. Goods came from 188 source countries, with the top ten sources providing 71.5% of total import value. The leading import was preparations n.e.c. containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or oils from bituminous minerals, valued at $2.41 billion — 13.9% of total imports.
