Madagascar imported $5.07 billion of merchandise goods in 2023, making it the world's #146 largest importer. Goods came from 140 source countries, with the top ten sources providing 71.9% of total import value. The leading import was preparations n.e.c. containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or oils from bituminous minerals, valued at $817.27 million — 16.1% of total imports.
